In the Crosshairs

All forms of life are life — even the act of the hunt.
It’s not always noble. It’s not always fair.
But it exists. And sooner or later, we all find ourselves within its scope.

Sculpture by Zoltan Pitsur

You are either the predator — the force that pulls the trigger —
or the prey, caught in the cold focus of the crosshairs.

Ukrainians know this deeply.
So do many others who’ve lived through war, oppression, and fear.
Some become killers — not by choice, but by duty.
Others learn how deadly a word can be.
And many feel what it means to be the hunted —
not just animals on a distant safari,
but humans, marked, dehumanized, priced.

Even the strongest beasts can fall to a bullet bought with paper.

This sculpture does not glorify violence — it reflects it.
It invites you to step into both roles.
To ask yourself what it means to survive —
and who you choose to be,
when the aim turns toward you.
